Normally you will find only one button in your shop regarding overselling:
Allow overselling: yes / no

But the reality is usually a bit more complicated:

For example, in principle you can reorder all items except those in category X. But you can reorder individual item Y within category X.

But the individual item Y within category X, you could in turn also reorder.

With this module, we meet this reality of life. You get one "Consider stock" switch per category and per product.

  • The product switch is more important than the category switch.
  • the category switch is more important than the shop switch.

If you do not set a switch for a category, for example, the shop switch applies.
If you set a switch for a category but not for the products in it, the category switch applies.
If you set a different switch for a product than for the category or the shop, the product switch applies.

In the photos you can see the setting for a product and the setting for a category.

The “Reduce quantity in shopping cart” function has also been included since September 2024. This avoids the following error message.

Imagine you normally have the function “Check stock: yes” and “Allow purchase of out-of-stock items: yes” in your Modified Shop.
The Modified configuration now displays the following message in the shopping cart: “”Unfortunately, the items marked with *** are not in stock in the quantity you requested. We will deliver the ordered quantity as soon as possible. If you wish, we can also make a partial delivery.”

However, if you now set a product to “Check stock: yes” and then add more to the shopping cart than is available, the following happens:
1. you cannot continue to the checkout (which would be correct in principle)
2. you will still receive the message with the possible partial delivery.
That's why we check the stocks with “Check stock: yes” and reduce them to the available stock.
