Time and again, customers do not enter a house number.
In our view, an extra "House number" field is not a solution either, because customers then enter 2 house numbers instead, once in the Street field and once in the House number field.

So we leave it at the field "Street" and check it for the entry of digits.

If someone has not entered any, the message comes up:

"The street/number must consist of at least X characters and have a house number. If you don't have a house number, please enter 0."

So in this way, customers who do not have a house number are also covered. The 0 also appears on the parcel label, which is intentional because DHL and others would otherwise complain. In everyday life, however, it works well.

We cover the registration AND the checkout, so there is no escape from this check ;-)

Optional additional work, if desired (at no extra cost): We additionally check the street for commas and simply remove them, without error message.
Background: Many customers have an "autofill function" in their browser, which fills the forms automatically. However, it often happens that this function places a comma in the street. For example, "Meierweg, 6".
