The Modified team strongly recommends updating to the latest version.

Updates mainly contain bug fixes and the closure of security gaps, but also new features.
If the shop is too old, it will stop working at some point because it is no longer compatible with the server.
We recommend regular updates, which is cheaper in the long term than making a large update every few years

Very large updates (e.g. Modified 1.06 to Modified 2.04) usually don't make sense, it is then cheaper to reinstall the shop and make the previous changes again. This process is then called

upgrade.
