Hide products that are out of stock

Are you familiar with the problem of products appearing in your categories that are currently unavailable? This causes frustration and unnecessary clicks for your customers. You can't deactivate the products either, because Google will hate you for it.

Our solution:

- You create a dynamic product group “out of stock but active” with exactly these properties.
- You create a category “Coming soon” in which exactly these products remain visible.
- If desired, you can also hide the category from the shop navigation. However, the products will still be accessible.

If your SEO structure looks like this when the product is called up

www.mein-shop.de/produktname

i.e., the category name is not included, then it doesn't really matter WHERE the product is located in the shop—the main thing is that it is available and not deactivated or even deleted.

This is exactly where this plugin comes in:

It automatically hides products with stock ≤ 0 in all standard categories.

In the special categories you define, it only displays products that are out of stock. It is best to use a dynamic product group as described above so that you do not have to maintain the category. However, you can also use the configuration to define exceptions if there are one or two categories in which all products must remain visible.

How it works:

After installation, you will find a field in the plugin settings where you can enter the category IDs of your “Coming soon” categories.

All other categories only show products with stock > 0.

You don't need to change anything in your ERP import—the assignments remain as usual. The products remain in their categories, they are just not visible.

Your advantage:

Your customers only see deliverable products in the normal categories.

At the same time, you can communicate transparently which items will be available again soon.

And Google can still access the product link.
