Run ads in ChatGPT!
OpenAI displays product ads within ChatGPT. This relies on a product feed that OpenAI regularly retrieves from your store. This module generates that feed directly from your modified shop and keeps it up to date on a daily basis.
What’s in the feed
Product name, description (HTML-stripped), and link to the product page
Price exactly as your customers see it—gross or net, depending on the customer group
Special offers, including both the sale price and the regular price
Availability based on stock levels, or set to "in stock" for services and downloads
Main image and additional images, manufacturer, EAN (validated), and manufacturer part number
Category path, e.g., "Tools > Hand Tools"
Easy setup
We install the module for you. In modified 3, it automatically handles the daily update; in modified 2, the update runs via a cron job on your hosting server—which we set up together with you. Within the module, you can view the feed URL for OpenAI, the timestamp of the last generation, the total number of items included, and any items that were excluded. You can also regenerate the feed instantly at any time with a single click.
You can exclude items with specific delivery statuses—such as "on request" or "currently unavailable"—from the export. This ensures you don't pay for ads promoting items you cannot currently supply.
Good to know
OpenAI requires an image and a price for every item. The module omits items without a price; for items without an image, you can specify a fallback image—simply send it to us.
OpenAI limits titles to 150 characters and descriptions to 5,000 characters. The module automatically truncates longer texts at the end of the last full word and appends "..."—leaving the content in your shop unchanged. Since truncation happens at the end, it is best to place key information at the beginning of the description. The feed is generated in both TSV and CSV formats. You should enter the TSV URL in OpenAI, as OpenAI currently does not accept hosted CSV URLs.
Product variants based on attributes are not transmitted individually; each product appears as a single line in the feed.
The module only generates the feed. You configure campaigns and budgets—and incur associated costs—within the OpenAI Ads Manager.
OpenAI Ads is a new platform with frequently changing requirements. Adjustments to the module to accommodate OpenAI's changing requirements are included for 12 months following purchase; thereafter, we offer them as updates. If you receive a notification from OpenAI requesting feed adjustments, or if you notice rejected items in the upload history, please forward this information to us.
The plugin is update-safe: it does not modify any shop files and remains intact during *modified* system updates.
