Using artificial intelligence, we can automatically remove the background from photos.
By means of an interface, this now works fully automatically. You upload your photos to the shop, they are automatically cropped and then saved in the 5 known resolutions (Info Image, Popup Image, Thumbnail Image, Mini Image, Midi Image). So you only pay for 1 image instead of 5.
In principle, you have two options: you can purchase image quotas in advance or subscribe on a monthly basis.
You always purchase CREDITS.
1 credit covers 1 full-size image or 4 mini-images (see below).

You can also decide not to buy credits at all and work with mini images only.
PRICES PER THUMBNAIL (**)
50 thumbnails per month are free of charge. After that, mini-pictures (if credits are available) cost approx. a quarter of the advance prices listed above.
The quota of free pictures cannot be carried over to the following month.
It is not possible to buy "mini-credits", but you buy "1 credit" and this is then sufficient for 4 mini-images. If no credits are available and the 50 mini-images are used up, you will receive an error message.
Price example:
You only use mini pictures. You have 50 mini pictures for free.
You also buy 10 credits for 12.90. For this you get 40 mini pictures.
This means that in the end you have ideally paid 12.90 euros net for 90 pictures, i.e. not even 15 cents per picture - and this is still the expensive rate.
Preconditions:
- You can upload JPG or PNG pictures with up to 12 MB.
- If the image resolution is more than 25 megapixels (e.g. 6250 × 4000 pixels or any other aspect ratio), it will automatically be reduced to this maximum resolution.
- For cropping, the foreground must be clearly visible, i.e. this service is intended for products that are in the foreground and not for logos or similar.
- The image must be uploaded the right way round so that our interface recognises which object it is.
- The background should be as simple as possible, e.g. a plain wallpaper, and not a floral pattern. Of course, the background must not be the same color as the product, not even partially.
- Pictures must have a subject that is clearly recognisable as the foreground, such as a person, an animal, a product or a car.
- Cropping also works with images that have already been uploaded. You can simply edit an existing product, click crop in the admin, and all images will be cropped. This is important to know, because if there are already cropped images there, they will be cropped again and charged if necessary!
- You need an API key, which you receive from us and enter under "Class extensions".
On the basis of the photos published here, you can see quite well at which point the automatic system reaches its limits.

Full images are high-resolution images with up to 12 MB.

Minibilder are small pictures in low resolution with up to 0,25 Megapixel (e.g. 625 * 400 Pixel)
Please understand that we can't advise you for single pictures if they would be free of charge or not. Simply upload your image without buying credits and you will see if it is exempted from the interface or not. You will also not incur any unforeseen costs without credits, as you would always buy paid exemption in advance.
Q&A
Q: What happens if I have watermarks? Will they be removed during the background removal process?
A: No. We only send the original image for background removal. The smaller images are generated from this image *after* the background has been removed, and it is these smaller images that receive the watermark.
Q: But I can't see the new image at all!!
A: In the admin area, go to Advanced Configuration > Cache Options. Click the "Clear Cache" button once and the "Clear Template Cache" button once. Now, view the product in the customer-facing store, hold down the Ctrl key, and press F5 at the same time. You should now be able to see the new image.
